Nurturing Future IT & Creative Media Talent: Career Mentorship for Secondary Students

In an era where practical skills and real-world experience are highly sought after, the Jockey Club Multiple Pathways Initiative – CLAP-TECH Pathway’s career mentorship programme is at the forefront of providing secondary school students with a unique opportunity to learn from industry professionals, helping them explore their future career paths.

At the heart of this career mentorship programme is the participation of industry partners who have joined forces with the CLAP-TECH Pathway. Since 2020, the Pathway has welcomed over 30 industry partners from the business sector and more than 120 career mentors to guide and mentor over 800 students in the domains of information technology and creative media.

The programme aims to provide students with the opportunity to understand authentic workplace situations, entry requirements for their desired industries, and personal career paths, while gaining insights from career mentors. Through these interactions, students gain invaluable insights into their desired industries.

By connecting with professionals in their fields of interest, students are able to develop practical skills, and gain a deeper understanding of the opportunities available to them. This firsthand knowledge is essential for enhancing their skills and making informed decisions about their future.
