Tech Basics Students Embark on Singapore Study Tours

Jockey Club Multiple Pathways Initiative – CLAP-TECH Pathway recently hosted two study tours to Singapore for 2023 DSE gradates of the Applied Learning Course – Tech Basics. The tours provided an opportunity for students to learn about Singaporean culture, history, and vocational skills. The four-day tours, which took place in May and June, included visits to iconic destinations such as the National Museum of Singapore, NEWater Visitor Centre, Little India, Parliament House, Merlion Park, and Gardens by the Bay.

Students also attended academic visits to the East Asia Institute of Management and the National University of Singapore. The highlight of the tour was a visit to the Institute of Technical Education (ITE), Singapore’s principal provider of career and technical education. The visit to ITE allowed students to experience cultural exchange, including campus tours, programming workshops, and the opportunity to present in front of a foreign audience.

This is the second and third tours following a successful one to Singapore that was held in January. The study tours provided students with a unique opportunity to broaden their horizons and gain new insights into their field of study. They appreciated the chance to experience cultural exchange in a different country while equipping themselves with vocational skills needed for their future careers.
