CLAP-TECH has published its first guidebook, Best Practices Guide: Company Visit & Career Mentorship, to provide practical guidance on work-integrated learning, including company visits and career mentorship, for secondary schools and the business sector.
Developed by Professor Kara Chan, Associate Dean (Teaching & Learning) at HKBU’s School of Communication and Academic Director (Creative Media) of the CLAP-TECH Centre, the guide outlines frameworks for planning and hosting company visits and career mentorship sessions for secondary students, clarifies the roles of lecturers, students, host companies and programme organisers, defines these activities in the CLAP-TECH context, and provides step-by-step guidance for pre-visit preparation, on-site engagement and post-visit follow-up.
By consolidating proven approaches into a concise, classroom-ready resource, the guide helps schools and employers co-create impactful experiences that connect learning to real workplaces, broaden students’ horizons and strengthen school-industry collaboration. It offers adaptable tools and templates that make quality work-integrated learning easier to plan, deliver and sustain.
